The Tefal Actifry is one of my most cherished kitchen gadgets. Without this little babe there is no way I would be able to stick to my diet and healthy eating regime.

We’ve had a Tefal Actifry for a few years now and I use it for all sorts of recipes including, granola, Mediterranean vegetables, sweet potato fries, potato chips and cinnamon sugar apples.

At least once a day I make Actifry chips with and I’m going to share with you the quickest and easiest way to do this!

Actifry chips for two

What you need:

Ingredients

  • 300g-400g of white potatoes
  • Spray oil – I use Olive Oil Fry Light

1. For best results pre-warm your actifry – just turn it on and let it heat up without any oil in it for 5 minutes or so.

2. Gather your potatoes and get a nice sharp knife. The key to crispy Actifry potatoes is cutting them thin. You really want to aim to cut your potato in to “fries” rather than thick chips for the best results.

3. Get a tea towel or some kitchen cloth and dry off your Actifry chips as much as you can.

4. Place your potato chips in the pre-warmed actifry and give a good blitz with the spray oil. I recommended 8 to 10 pumps for crispy potatoes, but if you’re brave you can use less! Close the lid and let the Actifry work it’s magic.

5. Normally my Actifry chips will take anywhere between 25 to 30 minutes to be lovely and crisp. But I recommend for your first go you keep an eye on them until they’re at your preferred colour.

6. Remove from your Actifry and serve!

Here’s mine with some MyProtein Zero Sugar BBQ Sauce, as you can see I’m definitely a crispy-chip kinda girl

My top tips:

  • Pale Actifry chips tend to be uncooked and need longer
  • Some potato varieties naturally have more water content than others, and these will take longer to cook
  • Pre-warm your Actifry beforehand
  • Don’t expect Actifry chips to be the same as normal chips, they aren’t, but they do taste good once you get used to them!

Let me know how you get on, and if you have any of your own tips to share!
